About Brigadoon

Brigadoon is the last of four shows I performed in with Fullerton Civic Light Opera, one of the absolute best production companies I ever had the good fortune to be associated with.

The other three leading roles I played on the Fullerton stage were Curley in Oklahoma, Gaylord Ravenal in Show Boat, and Joe Cable in South Pacific. All just as much fun as Brigadoon.

I made life-long friends of many of FCLO’s producing staff, crew, and fellow performers. In fact, Rick Clave and Rhonda Treischel (pictured above) are now happily married and have a lovely daughter, Risa, to whom I’m the proud godfather.

Rhonda and I were cast in five productions together over a brief time span, three times as leading romantic costars, and, Wow!, what chemistry we had on stage.

One newspaper favorably compared us to the famous singing couples of the prior generation, Howard Keel and Jane Powell, and Gordon MacRae and Shirley Jones. We couldn’t have received a greater compliment – and there is no one on the planet that I would have rather shared the spotlight with as my leading lady other than Rhonda Treischel. She is a “Real Love of My Life.”

Rick provided me with the digital version of the show’s recording so that I could include some songs for you in my website.

Thank you Rick, Rhonda, Risa, and everyone from my wonderful FCLO experiences for being such big parts of my past and present worlds.
