This is a pencil-on-newsprint sketch I drew from life the first day of 11th grade art class.
For the rest of the semester, my teacher, Mr. Mancillas, brought me family photos of his to draw and paint for him instead of having me do the still-life assignments everyone else had to do.
I never enrolled in another drawing or painting class before of since.
